Lubrithal Ophthalmic Eye Gel is a lubricating fluid based on a complex carbomer which helps restore moisture levels in the eye and promotes the optimal maintenance of the ocular tear layer. Unlike other eye lubrication treatments, Lubrithal Ophthalmic Eye Gel not only adds moisture to the cornea but also helps maintain moisture in the tear level, thus enhancing eye health and condition. Suitable for use as and when required.
Lubrithal eye gel is a carbomer lubricating fluid to aid in moisturising and maintaining the tear layer of the eye.
Most eye lubricators just add moisture to the cornea, this carbomer moisturiser retains moisture in the tear film for far longer.

My dog has dry eye but I’m finding it impossible to get drops in his eyes. Im looking something thicker than the watery drops, in the hope I’ll have a better chance of actually getting some into his eye,
This is an eye lubricant and is useful as part of a treatment protocol for Dry Eye. Your vet may have advised prescription medication and it is important you use these as a priority. Eye lubricants like this are often advised alongside prescription medication to provide artificial tears to the eye, aiming to prevent them drying out. This will be suitable for the use you describe.

do you require a vet priscription for this gel
This product is an over the counter non-prescription eye lubricant so you do not need a vet perscription to purchase it from us.

Is this suitable for sheep
This product is licensed for use in the eyes of dogs and cats only. It is a lubricating eye drop though that likely will be safe for use in sheep eyes too, but I cannot confirm this. I recommend discussing this with your vet as it would be an off license use of the product.

Hi, my dog has just started with a green eye discharge. Would this product be suitable for treating this. It is just in one eye?
Advice would be greatly appreciated.
If the discharge is green it is likely that there is an infection such as conjuntivitis or a scratch/ulcer on the cornea. In which case you are going to need something with antibiotics in it which are prescription only. The lubrithal will only lubricate the surface of the eye and not treat an ulcer/scratch/infection. It may be something and nothing but eye problems can go wrong very quickly if not treated properly so I would suggest you see your vet as soon as possible.

Hi. I have a pug with dry eye and allergies I have started him on lacrilube. I was wondering if this product is more effective ? Thanks in advance
The two products do the same job and are very similar. I doubt if you would notice any difference between them. Ideally you should be using Optimmune at the same time to try and build up the natural tear flow again.

Hello,
Is this same ingredient with Optimmune ?
Optimmune is known for dog's dry eye syndrome medicine,
but too expensive.
So i was wondering if this is similar one.
I hope steroid is not contained.
Thanks.
Optimmune contains a powerful ingredient which helps to prevent immune damage to the tear glands and so helps the patient to produce more natural tears. Left untreated, the natural tear production dries up in these affected dogs. Lubrithal is a form of artificial tears. It does not affect the underlying disease process in the tear glands, but it alleviates the symptoms of dry eye by providing artificial lubrication for the eyes. It does not contain steroids and is reasonably effective at helping to keep the eyes lubricated, comfortable and healthy, but the natural tear production will probably slowly dry up. In fact the natural tear flow will often slowly dry up even if using Optimmune, but much more slowly and the eyes stay healthy for longer.
